Benjamin Moore: A Look At Monochromatic Colors

August 28, 2018

At San Francisco Paintsource, we offer a dizzying array of Benjamin Moore colors. With new shades coming out consistently, where do you begin? You may want to start with choosing which rooms to paint. You may want a bold, vibrant color or more of a subdued palette. Luckily the designers at Benjamin Moore have you covered. They've created gorgeous palettes to please any taste and style.

The concept of Monochromatic design is to create a harmonious flow throughout your home. Where one hue may only play a small part in your living room - such as trim, it may play a larger role in the next - on the walls for instance. When you view one room from another, the colors play off of each other in an eye pleasing arrangement. Monochromatic design allows you to be bold with your colors, if you so choose, and still maintain a bit of reticence. The colors represented in these photos all contain stunning shades from Benjamin Moore. Carter Plum, CW-355 in Aura paint in an eggshell finish graces the walls, and balances well with the cocoa hued leather couch. The trim is painted in Chantilly Lace OC-65 ADVANCE interior paint in a satin finish. This leads us to the hallway in the next picture.

The above photo shows how these similar colors, establish a flow between the rooms. The hallway connects them with a lighter hue of the same color family. In the hallway we have Benjamin Moore Cinnamon Slate 2113-40 in Aura interior paint in a matte finish and Old Claret 2083-30 Aura interior paint in matte finish as well on the far wall at the end.

Choosing this style of decorating can take the stress out of attempting to find the perfect colors to compliment each other and flow as they do on the color wheel. As well, if you have a favorite shade, this is the perfect way to showcase it, without overpowering the entire house. You may opt for accent walls to display your chosen shade as well.
